“Africa Is Not For Sissies” speaks to the resilience, humour and sheer unpredictability of life in Africa, where things don’t always go according to plan, but somehow you carry on.
I left South Africa as a young adult, but the spirit of the place has never really left me. This painting is a playful nod to that resilience, and to the colour, energy and humour of a country that taught me to embrace the beautiful messiness of life.
