You Beauty

Acrylic, Charcoal, and Collage on Canvas
“You beauty!” is one of those enthusiastic expressions that can be used when something, or someone, has made your day. It’s a little bit of praise, a little bit of excitement and a whole lot of warmth.
Growing up in South Africa, I was surrounded by a culture where humour, enthusiasm and a good dose of competitive spirit were part of everyday life. I’ve always loved the energy and emotion of sport - and, of course, I have a soft spot for the Springboks. There’s something infectious about that collective moment of celebration when things go your way.
You Beauty! is about noticing the good things, appreciating the little wins and finding joy in the people and moments that make life feel good. It’s a small celebration of optimism, connection and those moments when you just want to throw your hands in the air and say, “You beauty!”
